Summary
Hundreds of bursaries that connect you and your dreams.
Imagine finishing your post-secondary studies with lower debt and huge job opportunities. Then picture yourself working in exactly the kind of job you’ve been trained to do, making great money and being able to afford all the good things life has to offer.
The Northern Alberta Development Council can help make this happen for you. Our bursaries ease the cost of your post-secondary education, and put you right in the centre of all the action: northern Alberta.
We’ve got a lot to offer, and so do you. We’re Canada’s hottest economy, with thousands of new jobs opening up each year. If you have a drive to succeed, an adventurous spirit and a willingness to stray off the beaten path — you’ve got what it takes to make it here.
Here’s how we help you succeed:
NADC BURSARY: If you are in your final two years of post-secondary study, we just might give you a return service bursary of $6,000 per year (non-repayable if you agree to live and work in northern Alberta for 1 year in return for each year of bursary support received).
MEDICAL STUDENT BURSARY: If you are enrolled in medical school, you could get $12,000 or $24,000 per year for the length of your program (non-repayable if you agree to live and work in the North for 1 year in return for each year of bursary support received).
PHARMACY STUDENT BURSARY: If you are enrolled in a pharmacy degree program, we’ll give you between $6,000 and $12,000 per year for the length of your program (non-repayable if you agree to live and work in the North for 1 year in return for each year of bursary support received).
NURSE PRACTITIONER BURSARY: If you are enrolled in a nurse practitioner program, we'll give you between $9,000 and $18,000 per year for up to 3 years (non-repayable if you agree to work in the North for 1 year in return for each year of bursary support received).
BURSARY PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM: Many employers are recruiting students before they are done their post-secondary studies. Employers are investing in these future employees by helping with their educational expenses now. We partner with employers by providing matching funds of up to $500 - $3000 per year ($6,000 maximum) to support students of their choice. We can also connect employers with students who have the skill sets they are looking for.
NORTHERN STUDENT SUPPLEMENT: If you have lived in northern Alberta the last two years, you could get a non-repayable grant of between $500 and $1,500 per year to help you with your first 2 years of post-secondary study.
