Eligible Activities
The Chinook Entrepreneur Challenge is for anyone starting a business or expanding an existing business. It is designed to create solid stepping stones through the turbulent start up period of small businesses. To create these stepping stones, University of Lethbridge Professor and business owner Craig Milner will teach 8 seminars that are free to those registered in the Challenge. These seminars cover everything from Human Resource Management to Financials to Risk Management. With Craig’s first hand business experience and teaching background, his advice will be valuable to any current or future entrepreneur.
The primary objective of this competition is to provide entrepreneurs with sustainable business ideas and the knowledge and abilities to write an effective business plan. Registering in the Chinook Entrepreneur Challenge includes free seminars that coach participants through the elements of their business plan including financial information preparation, marketing, how to raise capital, operations management, human resources and more.
In addition to the valuable business education, through the mentor program, participants have the opportunity to team up with an experienced business person in their community to gain invaluable insight.
