Do you want to be self-employed and are thinking about starting your own business? The Small Business Coaching program assists immigrants and residents inEdmonton and surrounding areas who wish to start a small business.

The Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers works in Partnership with other organizations to provide quality services to newcomers in Edmonton and the surrounding areas.

Eligibility Criteria

Small Business Coaching is available and free to Edmonton and area residents with limited financial resources.

Summary

The goal of the program is to help these persons develop economic and social independence through: 

• Information on starting a Small Business
• Business idea evaluation 
• Assistance with writing of a business plan
• Individual business advice  
• Workshops on Small Business Start-up and management
• Referral to access small loans from local loan funds
• Referral to other resources and professional services such as The Business Link
