Alberta provides funding for screen-based content creation through a unique production incentive in the form of a grant against all eligible production expenses incurred in Alberta. Alberta will contribute 20% to 29% of all eligible expenses up to $5 million Cdn per project (equivalent to a 36% to 53% labour-based tax credit).

To receive funding you need to:

• be incorporated or registered to do business in Alberta 
• spend more than $50,000 in Alberta
• have proof of other confirmed financing

Alberta’s level of contribution increases with Albertan ownership and the employment of Albertan key creative personnel. Funding is also available for project/Script development including Alberta stories, export market development, and training and mentorship.
